Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas
Ahhh yes, Mother’s Day. By now, you probably already have your Mother’s Day gift picked out and ready to give to your mom. Buuuut I know a good handful of people are still on the struggle bus with what to give the woman who gave you life and raised you. It’s a lot of pressure, right? Nah, you got this.
Well, I have some last-minute gift ideas that will be appreciated and create the appearance that you didn’t forget about your dear ole mom. Bonus points—these ideas won’t break the bank!
The gift that almost everyone genuinely loves, but often overlooked, is quality time. You’re adulting, and not getting to see your mother as much as you used too. One thing that she would love is to just spend time with you. This could be as simple or as extravagant as you want it to be. Moms love spending time with their children so get together to chat over brunch, spend a day shopping together, or go on a wine tour — whatever it may be! Find something that you both enjoy and just go do it. This is so easy! If you don’t live near each other, I’m pretty sure you’re going to be seeing each other eventually, so tell your mom: “hey next time we are together, I’ve got a really great day planned for us as your Mother’s Day gift.” BOOM. Done and done. That also buys you a little more time if you live far away from each other, but since you’ve already procrastinated this long, you better go ahead and get that in the books so you don’t forget.
Floral arrangement! You’re kicking yourself because you forgot to order a floral arrangement for your mom. You know what’s even more special? You going to the store, buying flowers, and arranging them yourself to give to her! She will love the thought and the effort you put into creating a custom floral arrangement especially for her! Yeah sure, there’s more pressure on you to go to the store but that’s the least you can do — amirite? This works best if you live relatively close to one another but by all means, if you feel like you should roadtrip across the good ole USA just to personally hand your mom some flowers, who am I to stop you.
Think homemade, but more personalized. Do you have a talent or hobby? Use that as your Mother’s Day gift! Paint her a beautiful picture, write her a song — or heck, sing her a song. You can also write her a poem or short story about a fond memory you have of her, make her a Mother’s Day card, whatever floats your boat. If you live close enough to give it to her on Mother’s Day, that’s perfect, but if not, FaceTime her on Sunday, show her what you made, and then pop it in the mail first thing Monday morning.
If you’re a cook, and distance isn’t an issue, swing by her house and make her breakfast in bed. Just like you used too when you were a kid. It would be such a wonderful surprise if you’re able to make her breakfast/brunch on Sunday morning! If you can’t make actual Mother’s Day work, plan an evening this upcoming week and have her over for dinner.
These are just some quick, easy — yet thoughtful — Mother’s Day gift ideas, that you can easily pull off last minute.
