Hello Friend!

Welcome to my blog, I'm so glad you decided to stop by! I like to call myself a Lifestyle Blogger, since I cover so much in my writing. However, I tend to focus mostly on street-fashion and beauty. On the main page you will find all my blog posts, I definitely don't take myself too seriously, so I try to keep all my posts lighthearted and funny. Hope you have a nice stay!

Floral Flare

Floral Flare

As the days slowly get longer, and the weather quickly gets warmer (and muggier), I know Spring is basically here.

My obsession over flowers and florals have never ended, and since Valentine’s Day, I’m craving the Spring flowers more and more. I’m beginning to see stores and boutiques stock up on floral prints, and my heart feels like it’s going to explode with joy. Gosh, I love Spring!

One thing I’m noticing in recent fashion trends are pants that bring a bold statement to the traditional Spring look. So I dared to try this eye-catching trend, and needless to say… I’m sold.

Since this is a newer style for me to be trying, and being the cautious person that I am, I didn’t want to spend too much on wide-legged floral trousers. Especially since I’m the kinda girl who likes to stick to basic skinny jeans. As one would expect, I’m not scared to wear a pair of jeans with a design on them (see my blog here). However, going all the way to a wide-legged trouser was, in my mind, equivalent to dying my hair from blonde-ish to jet black. It just wasn’t me – but I knew I had to try it.

I see runway models wearing wide-legged pants more and more, yet my build is the complete opposite of a typical runway model (umm... btw, let's see more body-diversity on the catwalk, please). I’m a bit on the shorter side – barely hitting the 5’4” mark on my "tall" days. So, I knew I needed, or should I say wanted, to avoid a low waistline cut to refrain from looking even shorter. These high waisted, wide-legged trousers made the cut (pun intended). Instead of looking short, the high waistline elongates my bottom half making me appear to be taller, despite the wide-leg. Talk about a win/win.

As for the colors and pattern on the pants, I kid you not, I got literal heart eyes as soon as I saw them. To some extent, they had an Asian-inspired flare to them, and the floral designs reminded me of the iconic cherry blossom trees you see in the Spring. The colors are vibrant, and every time I wear these pants I get endless compliments. To complement the subtle touches of honey-gold seen in the pants, I opted to wear one of my favorite off-the-shoulder sweaters. Not to mention, I love the bell sleeve detail. The material is hand woven by angels and mermaids using the softest clouds, delicately formed by unicorn breath. Okay... it is the softest sweater in all of the land, but no it’s not made by angels, mermaids, and unicorns. Bummer.

To tie this whole outfit together, I paired it with my 70s-vibing white booties, vintage white clutch, and white Kendra Scott drop earrings.
